Marie Claudine Lamarre aka Coco1804 confides in Juno7 about her personality, her private life and her clothing choices.

Marie Claudine Lamarre, born in Verrettes, in Artibonite in Haiti, grew up in Florida, in the United States. Today known under the pseudonym Coco1804, she is pursuing a musical career. The choice of her nickname is not trivial: it symbolizes her Haitian pride and her desire to attract attention as an accomplished businesswoman, she said in an interview with Juno7.

Coco1804 is proud of its roots and cultural heritage. By adding “1804” to her nickname, she pays homage to the year of Haitian independence, a symbolic date that resonates deeply within her. Her way of dressing and behaving evokes comparisons to stars like Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, or Megan Thee Stallion, but she insists on her originality and authenticity. As a Haitian, she stands out by remaining true to herself, despite criticism and personal challenges, she says.

The female artist has already released three tracks, the most notable of which is “TannDee”. The video, made in collaboration with renowned director Will Drey, was released in January 2023 and marked a crucial milestone in his music career, allowing him to become known to a wider audience.

Single mother of a six-year-old boy, Coco1804 juggles between her artistic career and her maternal responsibilities. She also runs a wholesale hair business in collaboration with a Chinese company and owns a hair salon, while running personal businesses on the side, she told us.

Aware of the difficulties facing Haiti, Coco1804 calls for unity and solidarity. She expresses the hope that Haitians can support each other to build a better homeland, and asks the bandits to give their country a chance.

“Haiti, hold on, stay united,” she implores, reaffirming her love for her native land and her commitment to contributing to its progress.
