The CPT had a working session with the PNH High Command as part of the preparation for the deployment of the MMSS
As part of the preparation for the deployment of the Multinational Security Support Mission, the Presidential Transitional Council had, this Tuesday, May 21, 2024, a working session with the High Command of the Police Nationale d’Haiti.
Through a note from the Presidency, during this meeting the members of the CPT discussed with the DG and members of the hierarchy of the police institution around the operationalization of the Multinational Security Support Mission.
“Haiti, through the Haitian National Police, will have overall control over the operations of this mission on the ground”
In addition, it is specified with regard to the composition, objectives, rules of engagement and health control of the troops, that everything will be coordinated and supervised by the Haitian police authorities.
It should be noted that on Monday, May 20, 2024, a delegation of senior Kenyan officials, led by the mission force commander, arrived in Haiti. This team’s mission is to prepare the ground for the deployment of Kenyan forces, with a view to facilitating a climate of security in Haiti.
