“Unfortunately, the charade that took place on April 30, 2024 at the Presidential Council is a conspiracy aimed at guaranteeing power to PHTK and its allies during the transition period and thus perpetuating the tradition of corruption,” the party writes in the note .
“Haitians are tired of suffering while the corrupt and their allies take advantage of the country’s meager resources,” denounces Fanmi Lavalas, maintaining that a “real disruptive transition that wants to put the country back on track must be based on the principle of respect of the political agreement of April 3, 2024.
Fanmi Lavalas remains attached to the people’s demands for a new model of governance, which we must prepare together in a real transition breaking with corruption, violence, insecurity and exclusion. This is why “Fanmi Lavalas rejects with all its strength the betrayal scandal that occurred on April 30, 2024”.
In the note, Fanmi Lavalas “vehemently condemns this conspiracy,” denouncing personal interests and anti-democratic practices that undermine the very foundations of Haitian society.
“A truly disruptive transition that excludes legal bandits who have ruined the country by plundering state resources could give the Haitian people a glimmer of hope. But personal interests and anti-democratic practices want to destroy all the efforts made to put the country on the right track, on the path of change,” the said note reads.
“The political organization Fanmi Lavalas has always believed that power must be at the service of the country, at the service of the most disadvantaged, at the service of the vindictive people, not at the service of a political group which leads the country towards repeated crises », Continues the note, specifying that the current situation in the country requires another mode of operation for a new State.
