The Minister of Defense, Jean Marc Berthier Antoine, ordered the placing on alert, this Tuesday, June 18, 2024, of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAD’H).
The Minister of Defense, Jean Marc Berthier Antoine, decided to place the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAD’H) on alert, thus responding to an assessment of the current security situation in the country. This directive was followed by the issuance of a circular from the Director General of the Ministry of Defense, addressed to the Acting Commander-in-Chief of the FAD’H, to order the placing of the forces in “condition D”.
“This decision follows a rigorous assessment of the current security situation in the country, marked by significant challenges requiring increased vigilance and immediate reactivity,” we can read in a publication on X from the Ministry of Defense.
According to the Ministry of Defense, additional instructions will be communicated later and that this initiative is part of the strategic priorities defined by the minister to strengthen the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces of Haiti and ensure an effective response to the threats that weigh on our country.
