Do the Haitian authorities have the courage to speak out about the latest corruption scandals affecting the Kenyan police?
“We are counting on your support for the good of the Haitian people, in particular women and children,” declared Joachim Prohete, a Haitian police official, during his meeting after a Kenyan police officer had just shot a magistrate to protest against a verdict in his favor.
Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome and his team met with the Haitian police team on Tuesday.
The meeting was held at the NPS headquarters in Nairobi.
“We are counting on your support for the good of the Haitian people, especially women and children,” Haitian police chief Joachim Prohete said during the meeting.
Douglas Kanja, Director General of the Kenya Police Service, and Noor Gabow, Director General of the Administrative Police Service, who is the National Police Service lead for the Haiti mission, also participated in the meeting.
The Haitian police team also meets with other commanders of the NPS, which has just lost one of its highest ranking officers to suicide with his own weapon.
