The Founder of the Haitian-Panamanian Inter-Caribbean Chamber of Commerce (CCHPIC), entrepreneur Joseph Lambert, confirmed the finalization of construction work on a gabion wall on the Cormier River, in the Municipality of Léogâne (West). The initiative aims to prevent much more damage during rainy seasons, according to the businessman.
THE HAITI FACTOR, May 8, 2024._According to Joseph Lambert, the course was set on a part of the river which tends towards the localities called “Michel” and “Nan Cadet”.
For the completion of the work, the contractor says he has initiated negotiations with the resigning Government as well as with international organizations.
After taking this first step, Joseph Lambert asks the Members of the Presidential Transitional Council to make the cleaning and channeling of rivers one of their priorities to avoid loss of life and material damage in the country.
He also invites the population of Léogânes to launch an awareness campaign with civil protection, state authorities and the diaspora in order to save lives.
Thus, Joseph Lambert also calls on Léogânais to be cautious in the face of the Dulivian rains which are falling on several municipalities in different departments of Haiti.
Ultimately, he sympathizes with the families whose loved ones died in the north of the country during a landslide.
