At least 400 Kenyan police officers officially disembark on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti, as part of the deployment of the Multinational Security Support Mission. They arrive in the country aboard the military aircraft “Kenya Airways KQ7681”.
THE HAITI FACTOR, June 25, 2024._ Deployment on the morning of Tuesday June 25, 2024, in Haiti, of the first 400 Kenyan police officers to begin assisting the Haitian National Police (PNH).
They come to Haiti as part of the fight to combat the gangs that are holding the country hostage.
Indeed, around 9:40 AM, the military plane “Kenya Airways KQ7681” which was transporting them landed on the tarmac of Toussaint Louverture International Airport.
While setting foot on Haitian soil, the Kenyan police officers, before returning to their base, unfurled the flag of their country to signify their presence on Haitian soil.
The deployment in Haiti of an armed foreign force was requested by the Government of Ariel Henry in order to help it face the demonstrations of armed gangs in the country.
