A student from the Georges Sylvain de Saint-Marc college was the victim of mistreatment at the hands of the director of the institution, Félix Estimé. The latter brutalized the student in front of the eyes of other senior executives of the Directorate of the school. In response, the Ministry of National Education suspended their teaching license. For its part, the National Regroupment of Haitian Education Workers (RENTRHED), calls on justice to act against the culprit and his accomplices.
THE HAITI FACTOR, May 23, 2024._The National Association of Haitian Education Workers (RENTRHED) expresses its indignation following the physical violence suffered by a student from the Georges Sylvain college in Saint-Marc.
She was mistreated by her Director, Félix Estimé in the presence of other school officials as well as some of her classmates.
Offended by the action taken by the heads of the school, the leader of the National Regroupment of Haitian Education Workers (RENTRHED), Léo Junior Lutolu, during an interview with the newspaper said he condemned the behavior described as ” brutal” of the leaders of the said establishment.
« Under no circumstances does a school principal have the right to mistreat a schoolgirl, even in such a way”denounced the trade unionist.
In order to curb these abuses in the Haitian school environment, Léo Junior asks the Saint-Marc prosecutor’s office to prosecute the Director of the Georges Sylvain de Saint-Marc college, Felix Estimé as well as his accomplices.
It should also be remembered that such an act had already been repeated in the North-East.
