In a thrilling final day of Ligue 1, FC Metz secured its place in the play-offs after a 0-2 defeat against PSG. Despite this defeat, Messins can breathe a sigh of relief as they avoid direct relegation, finishing in 16th place with 29 points and a goal difference of -23, tied with FC Lorient.
