Scheduled for this Tuesday afternoon, the elections to elect a Coordinator to chair the Council did not take place. At least two members of the Council, including the representative from Montana, were conspicuous by their absence. The Montana Group was quick to react and justifies its choice.

The representative of the Montana agreement on the Presidential Council, Fritz Alphonse Jean, made a mockery of the rest of the body which met at the Welcome Villa this Tuesday to elect a coordinator to lead the CP. Having waited in vain, the advisors present had to postpone the activity without giving precise indications on the date of the resumption of these elections. A few hours after rejecting the invitation from the advisors, the Montana agreement took stock of its decision.

In a note that he made public, he addressed several reproaches to other Councilors who act unilaterally in this approach. According to the leaders of this structure, there is a meeting that he proposed which remains pending. The group said it was surprised to receive an invitation for this Tuesday afternoon to take part in a meeting at the Welcome Villa while it was waiting for a response to the meeting request made to the other members. The Montana group did not hide its amazement regarding the place which is not entirely under the control of the Council. “Pursuoi Villa d’Accueil?”, he asks himself.

The most relevant argument of Montana’s leaders is the disrespect of the political agreement found between the structures represented in the CP which constitutes the legal framework of the Council. According to them, citing this document, the councilors deliberately ignored the principle requiring first the installation of the Council which must be followed by this election. Deeming the councilors to have put the cart before the horse, Montana leaders informed everyone that they could not condone such action.

In the meantime, suspense persists over the date of the college’s installation. This ceremony should be held at the latest within 48 hours at the Welcome Villa. Regarding the National Palace, no one knows why the advisors would have chosen not to venture there. Note in passing that a delegation from the Council visited the palace on Monday April 22 to inquire about security conditions.
