World Blood Donor Day: Konbit San Pou San mobilizes the population for a blood drive in BANJ

Established by the World Health Organization (WHO), World Blood Donor Day aims to raise public awareness of the importance of donating blood and blood products for the health of all. June 14 coincides with the birthday of Karl Landsteiner, the Austrian scientist awarded the Nobel Prize for his discovery of ABO blood groups, a major breakthrough that revolutionized transfusion medicine.
The importance of blood donation was first highlighted by Arnault Tzanck (1886-1954), a French physician who, during World War I, realized the crucial need for blood transfusions to save lives on the battlefield. battlefield.
