More than half a dozen people were killed in a crash involving a bus Tuesday morning and several others were seriously injured.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a bus with 53 people on board was transporting migrant workers to a watermelon farm around 6:30 a.m.
Authorities said eight people died and eight others were seriously injured. Thirty-seven other people were taken to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities used a Marion County Public Schools bus to transport those injured in the crash to the hospital.
No students were involved in the accident or injured, the school bus was only used to assist.
