The head of post of the Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Curaçao, Natalie Fourcand, organized, in collaboration with the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF), of Salù Patur and Smile Curaçao, a day of solidarity for the integration of Haitian compatriots living in Curaçao, on Saturday June 8, 2024, at the consulate premises. The event was “an unprecedented success”, according to the Consulate General of Haiti in Curaçao, through a press release.
“This day of conviviality, which brought together more than a hundred Haitian compatriots, was an opportunity for participants to meet members of different organizations present in order to register for the various training courses made available to them to better integrate the market. local labor”, informs the press release from the consulate, adding that “In addition to the professional training already available, such as languages, carpentry, electricity, construction, cosmetology, pastry and sewing, the massive participation of our compatriots made it possible to advocate for the addition of other fields professionals that the Consulate General of Haiti in Curaçao, in collaboration with PADF, plans to offer them.”
The social organization Salù Patur took the opportunity to offer consultations to 52 compatriots suffering from blood pressure and diabetes. In addition, 88 people benefited from free dental consultations thanks to the intervention of dentists from the Smile Curaçao organization, an initiative made possible by the efforts of Fourcand and its partners.
“Always determined to find the right formula to meet the expectations of her compatriots, Ms. Natalie Fourcand is already delighted with the positive repercussions from which our nationals will benefit at the end of this day of solidarity and renews her firm desire to continue to bring together all the leaders and representatives of young people from the community around the same table for the common good of the Haitian diaspora in Curaçao”, concludes the press release.
