New tensions have erupted between France and Argentina following racist remarks made by Argentinian players. The French Football Federation (FFF) has decided to file a legal complaint.

Relations between the two teams have deteriorated since the 2022 World Cup final won by Argentina. A controversial gesture by Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez had already fueled discord.

A racist chant by Argentinians denigrating the French. The latest provocation came after Argentina’s victory in the Copa America. In a live video broadcast by Enzo Fernandez, racist chants targeting the French players were uttered.
The FFF reacts firmly.
Outraged by these remarks, the FFF vigorously condemned these actions and decided to file a legal complaint. The president of the FFF also called on his Argentinian counterpart and FIFA.

This new affair risks further poisoning relations between the two federations. FIFA is called upon to take measures to sanction those responsible for these racist chants.
