Par: Dérestable John Mickenley

The United States crushed Jamaica with a resounding 9-0 victory in their first CONCACAF U-20 World Cup qualifying match, Group A. The Americans demonstrated their superiority from the opening minutes of the match and left their opponents with no chance.

A Thunderous Start to the Match

The American team quickly took control of the game. Diego Vazquez opened the scoring in the 2nd minute, followed by a second goal in the 3rd minute, putting the United States in the lead (2-0) after just three minutes of play.

Peyton Soma then scored twice in less than five minutes, with goals in the 16th and 20th minutes, making it 4-0. The Americans’ relentless attacks left the Jamaican defense helpless.

A One-Sided First Half

Cruz Medina added a fifth goal in the 39th minute, capping a first half that was completely dominated by the United States. The Jamaicans, unable to withstand the American pressure, failed to create any real scoring opportunities.

An Equally Dominant Second Half

The second half followed the same pattern as the first. Miguel Delgado scored in the 54th minute, and Reed Ramos Jr. added another in the 67th minute. The United States led 7-0.

Nikolas Berchimas scored another goal in the 77th minute, followed by Niko Tsakiris who rounded off the goal festival in the first minute of added time (90+1).

An Impressive Performance

This impressive victory demonstrates the strength and depth of the U.S. U-20 team. The players showed formidable cohesion and efficiency, particularly in the offensive phases. Their Jamaican opponents never found an answer to the relentless assaults of the Americans.
