The National Identification Office (ONI), in a press release, announced the imminent launch of a caravan for the distribution of National Identification Cards (CIN) in several areas of the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince. According to the said press release signed by Director General Reynold Guerrier, Tabarre, Port-au-Prince, Croix-des-Bouquets, Pétion-Ville and Delmas are, among others, municipalities concerned by this distribution.
THE HAITI FACTOR LFH, July 19, 2024._Towards the launch of a campaign to distribute National Identification Cards (CIN) in several areas of the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince by the National Identification Office (ONI).
The announcement was made on Friday, July 19, 2024, by the Director General of the institution, Reynald Guerrier through a press release.
According to the General Directorate of ONI, Tabarre, Port-au-Prince, Croix-des-Bouquets, Pétion-Ville and Delmas are among the municipalities targeted by the caravan.
To facilitate this campaign, ONI informs that new mobile distribution points will be established in the above-mentioned areas.
Thus, the cards initially available in the offices of Rue Lamarre and Gymnasium Vincent will now be accessible at our office located at Canapé-Vert. In addition, those previously distributed in Tabarre, Cornil Cesselesse Bouquets will now be available at SONΑΡΙ and Croix-des-Bouquets, ONI specified.
In the same vein, the cards from the Silo office will now be distributed to the Delmas Town Hall, while the others previously distributed to the Pétion-Ville High School office will be delivered to the OAVCT of Pétion-Ville, we can read there.
This initiative, according to the Director General, aims to regularize the operations of the ONI and dispel any suspicion of corrupt practices denounced by citizens. Thus, the National Identification Office says it reaffirms, with insistence, the free nature of the card and recalls that no one must pay to obtain their CIN.
In conclusion, the ONI invites the public to remain attentive to its next announcements concerning the passage of the caravan in the other municipalities of the country through, in particular, various communication channels in order to inform the population.
