The consumption of anti-inflammatory foods is recommended to limit oxidative stress, responsible for cellular aging.

Here is the recipe for an anti-inflammatory strawberry smoothie.

Ingredients

For this smoothie recipe you will need:

  • of a few leaves of fresh spinach;
  • a cup of freshly hulled strawberries;
  • one-third cup unsweetened passion fruit;
  • half a cup of unsweetened coconut milk;
  • a tablespoon of hemp seeds;
  • of a tablespoon of pistachios toasted or pistachio butter.

The preparation

Place the spinachstrawberries, passion fruit, coconut milk, hemp seeds and pistachios (or pistachio butter) in a blender. Blend until pureed (about 30 seconds). Place in crushed ice and enjoy immediately.

For the passion fruit, you can choose it fresh or in cubes from the frozen fruit section (at Picard for example). If you are making the recipe with fresh fruit, choose four medium-sized passion fruits.

Cut each passion fruit in half and carefully remove the flesh with a spoon. If you can’t find passion fruit, you can substitute pineapple.
