July 22, 2023: Haiti played its historic first match in the Women’s World Cup
Haiti fell on Saturday July 22, 2023 against England (1-0) during its entry into the competition of the ninth edition of the women’s world cup which took place in Australia and New Zealand. Despite a very good performance by Melchie Daelle Dumornay and her teammates, the national team was overthrown by the English, reigning champions of the European Cup. It was the Haitian team’s first historic match in a Women’s World Cup final phase.
July 22, 1985: Referendum on amendments to the 1983 Constitution
Port-au-Prince, Haiti.- As a result of these amendments, the position of Prime Minister was created and the right to appoint his successor was granted to the President. According to the official results published by the Ministry of the Interior then headed by Roger Lafontant, 99.98% voted in favor of the amendments.

General Jean-Jumeau, who had taken up Firmin’s cause, headed for Port-au-Prince at the head of an army of 2,000 men. Admiral Killick accompanied him by sea. The news of Jean-Jumeau’s arrival caused panic in Port-au-Prince.
July 22 Treaty of Basel:
By this treaty, Spain ceded the eastern part of Santo Domingo to France. The French colonization of the entire island was official. However, for incomprehensible reasons, France showed little interest in this part of the island, and the Spanish colonists were not disturbed at all.
