Launch of Hubdemy, a new online course platform to revolutionize education in Haiti.

Young Haitian professionals and academics officially launched “Hubdemy,” an online course platform, on Sunday, July 14, 2023, during an event at the Montana Hotel. This initiative aims to strengthen the skills of young people and encourage responsible use of information and communication technologies.

Hubdemy, a self-funded platform, will offer several courses such as Conflict Management in the Workplace, Administrative Writing with Jehufendy Joseph, Introduction to Journalism with Dimitry Charles, Professional Ethics with Stéphanie Smith, Introduction to Digital Marketing, and Project Management. More than 1,700 students have already tested the platform, benefiting from courses in project management and digital marketing.

The launch featured keynote addresses from influential figures including former Central Bank Governor Jean Baden Dubois, economist Enomy Germain, and BandAyiti CEO Orpha Ambroise. Together, they highlighted the opportunities offered by digital education, particularly for local small and medium-sized businesses looking to expand into international markets.

The event also featured a competition for entrepreneurial projects. The three winners Naichka Léonard, Lovely Adolphe, and Sheedlyne Francesca Saül won prizes and websites to bring their projects to fruition. The jury, composed of experts such as Jimy Dorsainvil, Joana Dorlus, and Kendy Montreuil, praised the participants’ efforts.

Christelle Monfiston, co-president of Hubdemy, reiterated the platform’s ambition to enable young Haitians to master digital advances with personalized support. She stressed the importance of this initiative to make Haiti a technological reference alongside emerging states in Southeast Asia.

Hubdemy positions itself as an innovative and inclusive response to current educational challenges, offering a unique opportunity to bridge educational gaps in a world where knowledge is the engine of development.
