A Haitian delegation currently in the United States to participate in discussions around the deployment of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS) in Haiti.
A Haitian delegation headed by the Minister of Justice, Emmelie Prophète, assisted by the Director General of the Haitian National PoliceFrantz Elbé, left the country this Sunday, February 11, 2024 to go to Washington, United States, with the aim of participating in a discussion around the last stage of the deployment of the multinational force in Haiti in the coming days, the editorial staff of Juno7 learned from a police source.
Indeed, the Haitian delegation should discuss with representatives of Kenya, the United States and other countries which have expressed their willingness to participate in the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS), this police source told Juno7 .
Recall that during his participation in an Italy-Africa summit which took place in Rome, Kenyan President Wiliam Ruto told Reuters that his country is continuing its project to lead the peace mission in Haiti despite the decision of the Kenyan High Court to ban the deployment of police officers in Haiti.
The UN Security Council approved on Monday October 2, 2023 the deployment of this multinational security support force in Haiti led by Kenya which was ready to send 1000 police officers and had already expressed its willingness to lead this multinational force. so desired by the Haitian government.
