For two (2) days, long lines of cars and motorcycles have been observed at the gas pumps. A new scarcity of gas is therefore to be deplored, in the midst of a security crisis.
According to available information, this new scarcity of gasoline is due to the fact that tankers cannot refuel at the country’s main terminal, Varreux, due to the criminal activities of armed gangs. As a result, the pumps are not supplied.
In Port-au-Prince, Delmas and Pétion-Ville, cars and motorcycles line up. Already, the yellow cans are back. The shadow of the black market already looms over the city. Another crisis which is already added to the multiple crises ravaging the country.
