The security situation in the country is increasingly deteriorating. Despite the presence of 400 Kenyans who came to support the PNH, the armed gangs continue to display their omnipotence. In the meantime, the Conille government is content to simply declare a state of emergency.
Indeed, in a press release dated August 19, 2024, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security announced the renewal of the state of security emergency for an additional month. This measure concerns the departments of West, Center, Nippes, Artibonite as well as the districts of Plaisance and Limbé.

According to the document, some exceptional measures may be put in place during this period. These measures include the closure of establishments, the evacuation of people, the construction or demolition of structures, the blocking of transport routes, and the suspension of telephone communications in the departments and districts concerned. The ministry also does not rule out the imposition of curfews if the situation requires it.
Moreover, The Ministry of Justice calls for the collaboration of the population in order to achieve compliance with these measures, which demonstrate the government’s desire to contribute to providing a response to the situation of insecurity that reigns in the country.
