Among the women who lend their voice to Haitian music, the name of Anie Alerte stands out. She stands out for her sense of patriotism. Her talent is exceptional and she works hard to reach the top. Célébrité Magazine invites you to delve into the artistic life of the native of Cap-Haitien.

Raised by her maternal family in the commune “Les Perches”, she was able to make a name for herself, not without pitfalls, in the Haitian cultural environment and even beyond the borders. It was on June 6, 1993, in Cap-Haïtien that Anie Alerte Joseph was born to a woman named Anita Joseph.

Raised in a single-parent family, she received a Protestant education, which, according to her, prevented her mother from pursuing a career in music. “My mother sang really well but, because of her father, she was not able to exploit her talent,” she says.

After completing her classical studies, she obtained several university diplomas. “I could have been a doctor, but destiny wanted me to be on stage,” she tells us in a voice full of pride.

First steps in the musical world

Like so many other artists in the Haitian musical world, she got her start in church. The Capoise already took pleasure in listening to her mother sing at home. Anie also grew up with the voices of Jacques Sauveur Jean, Erol Christophe and, on the group side, Tabou Combo. She was already playing out shows in her head.

“Hearing my mother, the many songs that were part of my daily life, I could already see myself on stage, entertaining an audience. I really wanted to be a singer,” she confides with a super happy air.

She remembers the experiences that shaped the person she is today. “I participated in singing competitions at my church. That’s the trigger. I fought to make this side of me known. Besides, it was my biggest dream,” she confides.

In 2008, she participated in the Digicel Stars competition and was 2nd winner, even though she was not yet eighteen. Less than a year later, she will be the representative of the two-tone in another competition in Guadeloupe, Défi Lycéen. And as promised to those close to her, she came out with the first prize. This therefore earned him recognition in Guadeloupe.

Achievements and other facets

The singer has several titles to her credit, including numerous collaborations. From “Pi bon zanmi mwen”, her song which helped her pave the way, to her latest collaboration with Paul Beaubrun, “Kriye”, singer Anie Alerte has participated in a number of projects such as “Haiti, coeur de femme ”, “Eritaj” by Yole Derose. She put her vocals on albums like Shedly Abraham’s “All of God.” Which therefore opened the way for him to cherish a dream: to collaborate with his idol, his artist “all categories combined”, according to his words, Armstrong Jeune.

Anie Alerte Joseph is certainly a singer, but we cannot talk about her achievements without saluting her patriotism. Apart from the musical world, the voice of “Ou pa t janm renmen m” must be singled out when it comes to courage and patriotism. Who does not remember his contribution to the construction of the canal on the Massacre River? This work helped to discover this side of Anie Alerte despite the many difficulties she encountered. It should be added that the artist has already used his platforms to help the victims of the earthquake of August 14, 2021 in Les Cayes.

The one who played “Defile la fou” in “Eritaj” and her staff were victims of an attack in Terrier-Rouge in September 2022, while they were on their way to Fort-Liberté (Northeast Department). ) as part of a mobile clinic. Members of this delegation, made up of doctors and artists, were beaten up by the population.

She had many difficulties during her journey but decided to look at the glass half full. Besides, if we trust what he says, music is like a double-edged sword. “I had plenty of reasons to give up music but I still managed to make it known through this same channel and it freed me,” she rejoices.

Anie sings about her life. She is not ashamed to proclaim it. She expressed all her emotions through “Mal”, a music video song released a few months after experiencing a terrible moment in her life as an artist. It wasn’t easy at all for the singer, but she is happy to say that this part of her life allowed her to discover more of herself. On the emotional and behavioral side, among others.

Upcoming projects

The mother of three children, one biological and two adopted, is preparing to treat her fans to something in the near future. Indeed, the artist’s solo album will not be long in coming and this time, she takes care to deal with other subjects.

“For the respect of my fans, I don’t totally sing about my life on the album,” she informs.

Nothing from the album is communicated to us. We do not know the title or the date of its release but the voice of “Kenbe m” certifies that it will be available before the end of this year.
