France has a new ambassador to Haiti. This is Antoine Michon, who replaces Fabrice Mauriès, whose mission ended this month (August 2024). A career diplomat, Antoine Michon worked as France’s chargé d’affaires at the Organization of American States (OAS).
Indeed, the announcement of the accreditation of the new French ambassador to Haiti was made by the French embassy which announced its courtesy visit to the Haitian embassy in France this Thursday, August 21, 2024.
“I am very grateful to Chargé d’Affaires Louino Volcy for this first exchange on the bilateral relationship between France and Haiti, which we wish to strengthen,” he communicated on account X (formerly Twitter).
Arriving at the end of his diplomatic mission in Haiti after three (3) years, Fabrice Mauriès gave an interview to local media on Wednesday, during which he announced that France intends to cooperate with the Haitian government, particularly in the training of members of the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd’H).
