Antoine Michon is the new representative of France in Haiti. He replaces Fabrice Mauriès whose mission has come to an end. Mr. Michon had worked as the French chargé d’affaires at the Organization of American States (OAS) before his appointment.

Chargé d’Affaires Volcy and the newly appointed French ambassador discussed in particular the strengthening of bilateral relations, the priorities of the Haitian Government, France’s support for the Haitian National Police, the issue of the deployment and financing of the Multinational Mission for Security Support in Haiti as well as the consolidation of academic cooperation between the two countries, indicates a publication of the embassy on social networks.
On the occasion of the end of his mission in Haiti, Ambassador Fabrice Mauriès was received by the presidential council on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at the Villa d’Acceuil.
During this ceremony, Mr. Mauriès had emphasized “the exceptional quality of the bonds of friendship between Haiti and France, which have been strengthened in several areas during his mandate in Haiti.” “He also specified that his successor will announce next week the new orientations of French cooperation, particularly in terms of security,” the Presidential Transitional Council had indicated in its press release.
