April 11, 1959: death of Clément Jumelle. Candidate for the presidential elections of September 22, 1957, Clément Jumelle, who accused the Haitian army of favoritism, withdrew his candidacy in protest.
After the election of François Duvalier, feeling in danger, he joined the maquis, before taking refuge, two years later, in the Cuban embassy where he died. His body was removed the next day by elements of the army during the funeral procession. The most macabre rumors then circulated about the use of his body.
April 11, 2016: provisional president Jocelerme Privert announces consultations with the different political parties represented in parliament, with a view to setting up the electoral verification commission. The consultations were intended to restore confidence in the electoral process of December 2015 and January 2016.
11 avril 2016 : Jocelerme Privert and Enex Jean-Charles appoint 15 senior civil servants in the public administration. Former colonel Antoine Atouriste is appointed minister of defense, Paul Harry Voltaire becomes secretary of state for local authorities while Michel-Ange Gédéon is promoted to acting director general of the PNH, replacing Godson Orélus.
April 11, 2021: 10 people, including 7 nuns, from the Roman Catholic church in Haiti are kidnapped in the Croix-des-Bouquets area as they were going to the installation ceremony of priest Arnel Joseph in Ganthier . Among the hostages were two French nationals. They will be released 19 days later.
