The Archel footballer, Alezy Olnick, nicknamed Fabregas. died on Wednesday February 28, 2024, while playing a “football match between friends”, informed the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) in a press release.

A hard blow for the great family of Archelo football who were “marveled” by the “talent” of Olnick, he who proudly wore the tunic of Arcahaie FC in the Haitian first division championship and in the Concacaf Champions League.

“Olnick amazed the Archel public with his talent in national competitions and made national football shine in the CONCACAF Champions League,” recalled the FHF, which salutes the memory of the footballer, who left at just 31 years old.

“The FHF bows to his mortal remains and salutes his departure which will leave a great void in the hearts of his teammates and the great football family,” reacted the FHF.

An important asset that will be missed by Haitian football which is preparing to resume its rights next weekend.

Indeed, the FHF announces the resumption of the national first division championship, called “D1 Championship Special “.

The teams will be grouped into three regional groups: North/Center Group, West/South group and Artibonite group.

At the end of the first round, the first two from each group will advance to the next round where they will be divided into two groups of three. The winners of each of these groups will qualify directly for the next edition of the Concacaf Champions League while the runners-up will compete to secure the third and final ticket available for Haitian clubs.
