The Gressier police station was once again stormed this Sunday, June 30, by armed gangs, Loop Haiti has learned.
A video circulating on social networks shows the attackers affirming their determination to remain in place, despite the presence of Kenyan law enforcement on Haitian soil.
The population of Gressier, fearing for their safety, launched an urgent appeal to the authorities via social networks.
“M ap mouri, mwen pa konn kote pou m ale, bandi yo preske rive kote m lan,” said a resident contacted by Loop desperately on Sunday evening.
It is worth noting that this attack comes shortly after Prime Minister Garry Conille announced his intention to take back total control of the country “house by house, neighborhood by neighborhood, city by city.” In less than two months, the armed gangs have extended their grip on several areas, including Gressier.
Let us recall that last May, the Gressier police station was attacked by armed individuals and the damage was considerable, with reports of homes being set on fire and many residents being forced to leave their neighborhoods in a hurry. The police regained control of the police station shortly after.
