Arrested on July 22, 2022 for his involvement in arms and ammunition trafficking in Port-de-Paix (North-West), Me Robinson Pierre-Louis was released this Wednesday, August 7, 2024.
A release that comes after a seventh appearance before the Port-au-Prince Court of Appeal, this Wednesday, August 7. Michelet Virgile, former Commissioner of the Port-de-Paix government, involved in the case, was also acquitted.
As you may recall, their lawyers had appealed the order issued in August 2023 by investigating magistrate Walther Wesser Voltaire. This order referred the two men to the criminal court sitting without the assistance of a jury.
