US President Joe Biden issued a new executive order on Tuesday aimed at reducing the record number of migrants arriving at the US-Mexico border.

Under the executive order, which took effect at midnight Wednesday night, authorities can quickly expel migrants entering the United States illegally without processing their asylum claims.

Hours after the decree took effect, migrants, as well as aid workers and some residents, expressed concern about the government’s plan to curb immigration.

Network Nodes was invited to cover a press conference of the American authorities on this subject on Thursday afternoon, and will bring you more details.
