Boisvert continues to do what he does best: press releases announcing the curfew without ever evaluating this null and ineffective measure for the gangs.

For several weeks, the de facto Prime Minister, Patrick Michel Boisvert, has persisted in tirelessly renewing the press releases announcing curfews and the state of emergency in the West, without ever devoting the necessary time to the evaluation the effectiveness of these measures. While terrorist gangs on a commissioned mission mercilessly set the lost territories of Port-au-Prince on fire from the first day of the curfew, the devastation they cause in terms of lives lost and material damage far exceeds that of both first months of the year. Against this backdrop, we can wonder about the real usefulness of the press releases on the curfew signed by Boisvert, who stormed the Prime Minister’s Office.

Prime Minister Tèt Kale 3 bis must seriously look into the problem and avoid taking refuge behind official communications without reporting to the press and the nation the reality of the situation. Detailed explanations are expected from him, because it is no longer enough to publish press releases reiterating the imposition of the curfew and the state of emergency, without any tangible impact being observed on the ground. Everything becomes worse than before Mr. Ariel Henry is forced to physically distance himself from the Prime Minister’s office.

As the month-long state of emergency, introduced on April 3, draws to a close, citizens are demanding concrete explanations of the measures taken during this period. The time has come for a press conference by Mr. Boisvert to report on his actions and clarify the objectives and results of the measures taken.

The confinement of the population without convincing results cannot continue, that is obvious. The restrictions on public gatherings would be severe, one would say, but who is really demonstrating in the streets of Haiti at the moment, if not the armed terrorist forces, some of whom have been wanted for about five years by the police but are at ease giving interviews in foreign media?

Today, Mr. Boisvert must break his silence, put an end to the sterile repetition of press releases and fully assume his responsibilities towards the Republic. Otherwise, he is asked to put the keys back under the door and leave before his past as a bad financier of the Republic catches up with him.
