Indeed, in a statement made public at the end of the 46e Caricom meeting, Caribbean leaders say Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry has recognized the need to hold elections in the country, first aiming for consensus with the political opposition and Haitian civil society.
The Caribbean leaders’ statement indicates that all actors in Haitian society, including the Prime Minister, will have to make concessions to allow elections to be held and the restoration of democracy in Haiti.
