The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Mr. Carlos Hercule, has decided to place on leave until further notice the Government Commissioner at the Court of First Instance of Les Cayes, Mr. Ronald Richemond. He was dismissed from his post by the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Mr. Carlos Hercules, through a letter addressed to him on Thursday, June 27, 2024.
Mr. Carlos Hercule said he took the decision following the receipt of various complaints against Mr. Ronald Richemond, while he was exercising his functions as Government Commissioner of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of Les Cayes.
Thus, his availability until further notice aims to shed light on the truth surrounding the facts that the Commissioner is accused of and to guarantee the impartiality of the investigation that will be conducted by a commission appointed for this purpose, wrote the Minister of Justice.
He is temporarily replaced by the Deputy Government Commissioner at the Court of First Instance of Les Cayes, Mr. James Jean-Louis, according to another correspondence signed by the Minister of Justice, Mr. Carlos Hercule.
