PRESS RELEASE Celebrating the 18th anniversary of the Junior Chamber International Haiti
Conference on volunteering in partnership with the Lorquet Foundation for a new Haiti and ATREPA
On June 30, 2024, Junior Chamber International (JCI) Haiti celebrated its 18th anniversary by organizing a conference followed by a reception. This event, in partnership with the Economic Research Workshop to Better Prepare the Future (ATREPA) and the Lorquet Foundation for a New Haiti (FOLONHA), took place under the theme: “The role of volunteering and youth involvement in the process of rebuilding Haiti”. The panelists included Mr. Patrice Dumont, Mr. Jameson Duperval, and Me Aline Nathalie Wakam Cyprien.

Volunteering in building engaged young citizens. Youth engagement in the fight for new economic governance. Contribution of volunteering to the rooting of democracy and the rule of law. Presentation of JCI Haiti:
Junior Chamber International is a non-profit NGO of young people aged 18 to 40, aiming to provide development opportunities and create positive change. With a presence in over 124 countries and 500,000 members, JCI promotes values of respect for the human person, international solidarity and community progress.
Course of the celebration:
The event brought together official delegations from the JCI Haiti West Zone, the Lorquet Foundation for a New Haiti, and the ATREPA organization. Other local delegations participated via Zoom. Mr. Jehufendy Joseph, National President 2024, highlighted the role of JCI as a major national leadership network and thanked all members and local leaders for their commitment.
History and vision of JCI Haiti:
JCI Haiti, after a first attempt between 1994 and 2000, resumed in 2006 and obtained full member status in 2011. Today, it continues to grow with members spread across several departments of the country.
