The Papaye Peasant Movement (MPP) organized on Wednesday June 5, 2024, in Hinche, in the Center Department of Haiti, a gastronomic fair around the theme: “Plante pye pwa pou n’ jwenn dlo pou lavi pa disparèt”. MPP leaders including Chavannes Jean Baptiste carried out the activity to celebrate World Environment Day.
THE HAITI FACTOR, June 5, 2024._Celebration this Wednesday, June 5, 2024, of World Environment Day. To keep pace with this meeting, the Mouvement Paysan Papaye (MPP), an organization that has been fighting for a socialist Haiti for 50 years, organized a gastronomic fair in Hinche.
The activity took place under the theme “ Plant trees to get water so that life does not disappear.
On occasion, several activities were carried out, including conferences on “ the causes and consequences of environmental degradation » et « the manifestations of the climate crisis in Haiti and across the planet »,
No more conferences, time for exhibitions of local edible products such as “Tchaka, Doukounou, Akasan, Chanmchanm, Kasav sèl, Kasav kokoye”, among others as well as seedlings for the appreciation of the participants.
The organizers of the fair took advantage of the event to encourage the Haitian population, more particularly that of the city of Hinche, to protect the environment for a green Haiti.
