The spokesperson made the remarks in response to a question about the U.S. Commerce Department’s recent decision to place a number of Chinese entities on its “entity list” for export controls under so-called Russia-related pretexts.
This action is characteristic of unilateral sanctions and long-arm jurisdiction, the spokesperson noted in an online statement.
It undermines the order and rules of international trade, hinders normal international economic and trade exchanges, and affects the security and stability of global industrial and supply chains.
The United States should immediately stop its wrong actions, the spokesperson said, adding that China will take necessary measures to firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.
