The General Director of CONATEL, Ing. Joses JEAN-BAPTISTE, met this Friday, May 17 with the General Director of Digicel, Mr. Jean Philippe BRUN, to address the issue of changing the prices of telecommunications services sold to the public.
During this meeting, CONATEL demanded from Digicel rigorous application of the circular of May 31, 2022 concerning price changes. CONATEL also requested a reassessment of any tariff measure that does not comply with this circular.
According to article 1 of the circular, any creation or modification of tariffs for telecommunications services must be subject to the non-objection of CONATEL at least eight clear days before its application. CONATEL reminds all operators that non-compliance with this information obligation will result in the application of the penalties provided for in the circular.
CONATEL emphasizes the importance of respecting these directives to ensure fair and transparent regulation of the telecommunications market in Haiti.
