Last night, the CONCACAF Champions Cup offered thrilling duels between Canadian and Mexican clubs, featuring two Haitian footballers. At Tim Hortons Field, FC Forge, hosting Chivas de Guadalajara, put up a fierce battle. Despite the efforts of Haitian defender Garven Michée Metusala, who played the entire match, FC Forge gave in to the offensive power of Chivas, conceding a 1-3 defeat. All eyes now turn to the return match scheduled for February 13 in Mexico, where FC Forge will have to turn things around if they hope to continue their quest in the competition.

On the other side of the country, at BC Place Stadium, the Vancouver Whitecaps hosted Tigres UANL in another electrifying duel. Fafa Picault, the talented Haitian striker, joined the game in the 70th minute to strengthen the Whitecaps attack. Despite the combined efforts, the match ended with a 1-1 draw, leaving everything to play for in the return match on February 14 in Mexico.

These epic confrontations illustrate the growing competitiveness of CONCACAF clubs and the significant presence of Haitian players on the international scene. Fans are eagerly awaiting the return matches, where FC Forge and the Vancouver Whitecaps will have the opportunity to excel and proudly represent Canadian football.
