By Handy Alfred
This Saturday, July 6, 2024, during the quarter-finals of the Copa America USA 2024, Brazil was eliminated by Uruguay and said goodbye to the competition after a disappointing draw (0_0) at the end of the 90 minutes (4-2 tab).
At the end of an extremely physical encounter, Brazil did not have the chance to come out on top against Uruguay. Despite a red card received by Nahitan Nandez in the 74th minute, after a crude tackle on Real Madrid player Rodrygo Goes. Moreover, this numerical superiority did not smile on the Brazilians.
Brazil unlucky in penalty shootout
Merengue Eder Militao and Douglas Luis were unlucky to convert their shots into goals against Sergio Rochet. This led to Brazil’s elimination, despite the missed shot by José Maria Gimenez from the Uruguayan camp.
The mouth-watering semi-final ahead
The Uruguayans join Colombia in the semi-finals, which in turn pulverized Panama (5-0). The match is scheduled for Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 8 pm, at the Estadio Centenario.
