In a pre-list published by the Argentine Football Federation, on Monday May 20, 2024, the coach of this national team, Lionel Scaloni and his staff called on 29 players to participate in a training session. Subsequently, friendly matches will precede the elimination of three players in order to have the final list for the competition.

After his surprising release, football lovers did not hesitate to provide their criticism following the absence of Paulo Dybala in this pre-list.

Dybala, an important element despite everything

Known for his status as an important substitute, the real Argentine troubleshooter will attend the Copa America as fans, and will not have the chance to set foot on the USA pitches.

Nice numbers, unimpressive

Despite his 16 goals and 10 assists in 38 games, it was not enough for the 30-year-old to join his teammates for the next competition.

Finally the coach decided to leave Dybala aside this time. Note that the AS Roma player won the Qatar 2022 World Cup, and ruled out any possibility of winning a new trophy with the Argentine football selection.
