The 2024 Copa America was won by the Argentine national football team thanks to its victory (1-0) in extra time against Colombia. To secure this 16th title, the Albiceleste relied on Lautaro Martinez, the executioner of the Cafeteros.

In fact, at the end of a very contested final, Lionel Scaloni’s men won the Holy Grail on Sunday evening by beating Colombia (1-0) in extra time.
The liberating goal was scored by Lautaro Martinez, who came on in the 97th minute to replace Julian Alvarez.
The Albiceleste centre-forward sent his team to heaven in the 112th minute of play, on an assist from Giovanni Lo Celso.
By winning by the smallest of margins against Colombia, Argentina made a comeback after winning the 2021 edition, at the Maracaña, against Brazil.
This is the 16th Copa America title won by the Albiceleste, the 2nd in the career of Lionel Messi who played his last match in the competition.
It should also be remembered that the 2024 Copa America final is marked by the farewell of Angel Di Maria after several years of loyal service.
In addition to the collective trophy, the Argentines won several individual distinctions. Thus, author of 5 goals in the competition, Lautaro Martinez won the Golden Boot, rewarding the “top scorer” of the tournament, while Emilano Martinez was elected “best goalkeeper”.
