The Secretary General of the Senate of the Republic, Marie Nelly Verpile Boyer, was arrested this Thursday, May 2, 2024, after her hearing before the investigating judge Merlan Belabre.
Boyer, accused of corruption and mismanagement of Senate assets, was arrested in connection with the corruption case in the granting of debit cards and the management of Haitian Senate assets. This file was exposed in a report investigation of the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC).
However, his lawyer Justin Joly denounces the decision of Judge Belabre in charge of the case and indicates that the accused party will do what is right.
Remember that the ULCC had recommended taking public action against former Senators Hervé Fourcand, Joseph Lambert, Gracia Delva and Wanique Pierre, for their alleged involvement in this matter.
