This Monday, October 28, 2024, a meeting was held between the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) and senior officials of the Haitian National Police (PNH) as well as the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAD’H). Objective: to discuss the alarming security situation currently affecting the country. The meetings are increasing, but the gangs are strengthening, gaining more and more territory.
This meeting, chaired by Councilor-President Fritz Alphonse Jean, aimed to evaluate the measures taken by the authorities to restore order throughout the national territory. These discussions also brought together the Advisor-Presidents Smith Augustin, Laurent St Cyr, Régine Abraham, and Louis Gérald Gilles, as well as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Haiti, Lieutenant-General Derby Guerrier, and the Director General of the Haitian National Police, Normil Rameau.
Several senior officers from the national police and the army also took part in this meeting. In the meantime, the populations of Tabarre, Solina and Arcahaie are in dire straits. The authorities are discussing and announcing measures which are struggling to materialize.
