After passing through the towns of Petit-Goâve, Jacmel, Aquin, Les Cayes and Jérémie, the writer Gary Victor concluded his literary tour for his novel “Sakad” with a meeting with his readers in Port-au-Prince. This Saturday, June 15, the author hosted a talk followed by a signing session at the Monferrier Dorval room, located at the C3 Éditions headquarters in Delmas 31. The event attracted a diverse audience made up of students, journalists and fervent admirers of the pen of Gary Victor.
The talk was an opportunity for the writer to share anecdotes about the genesis of his first novel in Creole “Sakad”, his writing process and the themes addressed in his work. The signing session that followed allowed Gary Victor, with his usual kindness, to sign copies of his novel and exchange a few personal words with each reader. “Sakad” is the first detective novel in Haitian literature, offering an incisive exploration of contemporary Haitian reality through a captivating plot that highlights the struggles between the forces of good and the shadows of crime and corruption.
