1:20 p.m. The kick-off is given at the Airport Carrefour (Kafou Rezistans) for this Sunday’s demonstration in Port-au-Prince. The two branches (Champ de Mars and Delmas) have met and are currently running along the Delmas highway to reach Musseau, in front of the official residence of Prime Minister Ariel Henry.

Accompanied by Truck Sound and rara bands, the demonstrators must cross Pétion-Ville before taking Panamerican Avenue to arrive in front of the Prime Minister’s office.
Barricades of burning tires are set up all along the route. The protesters swear by the departure of Ariel Henry accused of having led the country towards chaos.

Four days of demonstrations are planned, February 4,5,6,7 to overthrow the government.

Yesterday, the former rebel Guy Philippe who launched a “revolution” in the country called on the population to take to the streets from Monday to oust Ariel Henry from power. Claude Joseph’s EDE party also calls for demonstrations in front of Ariel Henry’s residence to force him to resign.

During a press conference at Baz 47, the leader of Pitit Dessalines called on the population to set fires throughout the country in case Ariel Henry refused to leave power.

The government, on the other hand, minimizes the movement that is underway across the country. According to Michel André, a leading ally of Prime Minister Ariel Henry, nothing special will happen in the country on February 7.
