Following a meeting organized on Friday between state authorities and the Committee of Striking Employees, an agreement was reached to observe a truce until December 31, 2024. Despite everything, the employees are still campaigning for the dismissal of the General Director, Jean Emmanuel Casséus. To replace him, several names are already on the table.
THE HAITI FACTOR, November 24, 2024._The current Director General of the DGI, Jean Emmanuel Casséus, is still the subject of protests from employees despite the truce announced by the Committee of striking employees.
As confirmation, in a note published on Saturday, the leaders of the said Committee asked Jean Emmanuel Casséus to continue to stay away from his office to avoid the resumption of the strike within the company.
Following this warning, several names are mentioned to succeed the current Director General. This is the case of executive employee Yves Auguste, according to information received by the newspaper’s editorial staff.
Yves Auguste, Paul Eugène Valmy and Emmanuel Jean-Joseph are the other official candidates for this position, according to several sources at the DGI who speak to the agency.
It should also be emphasized that according to the striking employees, the dismissal of Jean Emmanuel Casséus is the sine qua non condition for definitively ending the strike.
