Ronald Michel becomes the new commander of the Haitian National Police Intervention Group (GIPNH/SWAT).
Under the leadership of the new Acting Director General of the Haitian National Police (PNH), Rameau Normil, Inspector General Jean Maurest Étienne officially installed, this Monday, July 1, 2024, Divisional Commissioner Ronald Michel as the new Commander of the Haitian National Police Intervention Group (GIPNH/SWAT).
The installation ceremony, which took place this Monday, marks a significant change in the chain of command of the PNH. Ronald Michel thus succeeds Chief Commissioner Richardson Mersan, now assigned to the Central Directorate of the Administrative Police (DCPA).
In the presence of many GIPNH/SWAT agents, the event symbolizes a new leadership and also the strengthening of operational capacities within this elite unit. The transition is part of a series of changes initiated by the new Acting Director General Rameau Normil since taking office.
