The National Book Directorate (DNL) in Haiti is launching the “Des Aventures Dessinées” competition, the first of its kind dedicated to comics in the country. This competition is open to all, inviting young writers, illustrators and creators to submit their manuscripts for a chance to win attractive prizes.
The first prize is 400,000 gourdes, the second is 250,000 gourdes and the third is 150,000 gourdes. In addition to the financial rewards, the first three winners will see their work published in five hundred copies.
Interested parties can pick up a DNL registration form at the reading and cultural animation centers (CLAC) and the annexes of municipal libraries from August 10 to September 5, 2024. It is also possible to register online via the DNL digital platforms. Complete manuscripts must be submitted by October 5, 2024.
