Former senator Edgard Leblanc, son of the January 30 agreement, has just been appointed president of the Presidential Transitional Council this Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the Welcome Villa.

He was designated as President of the Presidential Council by the majority of the 7 members holding the right to vote.

Furthermore, the former Minister of Youth and Sports, Fritz Belizaire, was designated Prime Minister of the country by the majority of presidential advisors.

After having taken the oath and being installed respectively at the National Palace and at the Welcome Villa on Thursday April 25, 2024, the nine members of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) met on Saturday April 27, 2024 to discuss in particular the process leading to the designation of Edgard Leblanc Fils as president of the Presidential Transitional Council.

Note that the nine members of the CPT were on site for the vote which pitted these four candidates against each other: Louis Gérald Gilles, Leslie Voltaire, Edgard Leblanc Fils and Fritz Alphonse Jean.
