By: Peterson Pierre-Louis

After missing the 2016 European Cup final against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal, this generation of talented French people will have the difficult task of winning a Euro. This year France is undoubtedly one of the biggest favorites to win the Grail.

A Golden Generation

With a host of players playing in the biggest European teams; the French arsenal cannot fear anyone. This generation since 2016 has imposed on the whole world their ambitions to dominate the world of football. Finalist of Euro 2016, World Champions of 2018, Unhappy finalist of the last World Cup added to a won nations league; France has something to be proud of in the 21st century. The backbone of the Blues is made up of Kylian Mbappé, Antoine Griezmann, N’golo Kanté, Ousmane Dembélé, Adrien Rabiot and Kingsley Coman, all world champions. The experience is there and so is the quality.

A tactical device to hurt opponents

French strategist Didier Deschamps will opt for a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1. The first plan will allow Griezmann to be the custodian of the game in the country of France. The other device will allow him to be a free electron where he can vacillate between midfield and attack. With Kanté and Youssouf Fofana as recuperators, Rabiot as a false right winger, Mbappé on the left or at the forefront will share this task with Marcus Thuram. We’ll see. Dayot Upamecano and Konaté in central defense.

Possible rumors of a virus

Many French players have felt some discomfort lately. They may have caught a cold and had fever and flu. A probable virus was mentioned by the doctors on the Blues board for this purpose.

The X factors of France

Warren Zaire-Emery and Bradley Barcola are certainly young but will be important elements for Deschamps in the Tournament. Warren can make his contribution to the environment as a creator and organizer of play. Fiery and inventive, the young Parisian midfielder is a reserve factor not to be overlooked.

As for PSG’s young left winger, Bradley Barcola, he will be an ideal replacement for the luxury starters. Fast and twirling, Barcola can prove to be in the middle of the competition, an important pawn for Didier’s foals.

A dynamic team like this could hurt the other contenders for this title. Who will succeed Italy in 2021. Remember that France is in Group D alongside Holland, Poland and Austria.
